This Return Policy explains our policies regarding returns and exchanges for plants and accessories purchased from Candlelightil. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

Collection

Health Guarantee

We inspect all plants before they leave our studio to ensure they are healthy and free from visible pests or disease. However, plants are living organisms and their health depends on many factors including environmental conditions and care practices.

If a plant arrives damaged or shows signs of health issues within 7 days of purchase, please contact us immediately. We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include replacement, store credit, or refund, at our discretion.

Return Conditions

To be eligible for a return or exchange, plants must:

  • Be returned within 7 days of purchase
  • Show clear evidence of damage or health issues that existed at time of purchase
  • Be in the original condition (not repotted or significantly altered)
  • Include proof of purchase

Plant Care Responsibility

Once a plant leaves our studio, its care becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. We are not responsible for plant loss, damage, or health issues that occur due to:

  • Improper care or watering practices
  • Inappropriate light conditions
  • Environmental factors in the purchaser's home
  • Pest infestations that occur after purchase
  • Natural plant aging or seasonal changes

We do not guarantee plant survival or growth. Plant health depends on many factors beyond our control.

Containers

Return Eligibility

Pots and accessories may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of purchase, provided they are:

  • In original, unused condition
  • In original packaging when applicable
  • Free from damage, wear, or alterations
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Custom or personalized items
  • Items that have been used, damaged, or altered
  • Items without proof of purchase
  • Sale or clearance items (unless defective)

Return Process

In-Studio Returns

For in-studio purchases, please bring the item and proof of purchase to our studio during business hours. Our staff will inspect the item and process your return or exchange.

Refunds

If your return is approved, we will process your refund within 10 business days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for purchase.

Refund amounts may be adjusted for:

  • Items not returned in original condition
  • Missing components or accessories
  • Damage caused by the customer

Exchanges

We are happy to exchange items for different sizes, colors, or styles, subject to availability. Exchanges must be requested within the return period and items must meet return eligibility requirements.

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately with photos of the damage. We will work to resolve the issue promptly, which may include replacement, exchange, or refund.

Store Credit

In some cases, we may offer store credit instead of a refund. Store credit does not expire and can be used for any future purchase.

Return Shipping

For returns that cannot be completed in person, you are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was defective or we made an error. We recommend using a trackable shipping method and insuring the package.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a defective item.

Processing Time

Once we receive your return, we will inspect the item and process your refund or exchange within 10 business days. Processing times may vary during peak seasons.

You will receive an email notification once your return has been processed and your refund has been issued.

Gift Returns

If you received an item as a gift, you may return it for store credit. Gift returns must be made within the applicable return period and items must meet standard return conditions.

Store credit will be issued in the amount of the item's current selling price, not the original purchase price.

Sale and Clearance Items

Sale and clearance items may have different return policies. Please check at the time of purchase for specific return terms. Generally, sale items are final sale unless defective.
